Ascension Lutheran is a member congregation of MORE Justice.

MORE Justice is a growing network of faith-based congregations which are culturally, economically, racially, geographically and religiously diverse – coming together to fulfill our scriptural mandate to “do justice” and make the Central Midlands area a more just place to live for all people. 

Member congregations work together to empower marginalized people and act powerfully to address serious community wide problems through direct action. 

We seek to transform the systems that cause suffering by holding our local officials accountable for resolving these inequities and injustices.

Ascension Lutheran is a partner site for FoodShare South Carolina.

Fresh Food Boxes are filled with 9 to 11 varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables. With the contents changing weekly, it’s an affordable and exciting way to eat healthy food. Bulk buying at wholesale prices makes these boxes more affordable than buying produce at retail stores. Each box also includes unique recipes, tips and nutrition notes to give recipients the encouragement to expand their knowledge, cook new things and eat healthier.

Fresh Food Boxes come in 3 options:

1. Large food box ($25 cash/$10 EBT): Contains 18-22 lbs of fresh produce.

2. Small food box ($20 cash/$5 EBT): Contains 15-18 lbs of fresh produce.

3. No-cook box ($15 cash/$15 EBT): Contains 9-12 lbs of fresh produce that does not require cooking before eating.

Accepted payment methods are cash, check (made out to FoodShare of SC), or PayPal (please include additional $2.00 processing fee). EBT can be used at FoodShareSC SNAPonline - FoodShare South Carolina and orders can still be picked up at Ascension Lutheran. Orders can be placed at the Ascension Lutheran office on Mondays (9:30am - 4:45pm), Wednesdays (9:30am - 5:30pm) and Fridays (9:30am - 4:45pm). Orders are due bi-weekly on Wednesdays by 5:30pm and payment is due at time of ordering. Pick-up will be the following Wednesday from noon to 5:00pm.
